Eve Larson is well known as a portrait artist and native of Austin, Texas, where she has exhibited in many galleries and juried shows since 1985. She has been a member of the faculty of the Austin Museum of Art School for ten years. Landscape, portraiture and still life are all of interest to Eve, who believes that sound principles of painting apply to all subjects.

Eve has studied with many distinguished artists, including David Leffel, Milt Kobayashi, and Gregg Kreutz. In high school she was selected to participate in a University of Texas class for gifted young artists, under the direction of Kelly Fearing.

Painting and drawing have been a lifelong passion, although ballet dancing has been of equal interest to Eve. In addition to majoring in philosophy at Harvard University, Eve danced with the Radcliffe Dance Group. She danced for many years with Ballet Austin and eventually became academy director of its school. Ballet dancers are a continual inspiration to her artwork, and she thinks her dance background has contributed a gestural richness to her painting.
