Jill Strong, a Canadian nurse celebrates 40 years of being an
American citizen this year.
The Visual Arts Club has been the means of her discovering that she can draw and
paint even though she was convinced that she was hopeless at art in grade
school.
She has studied under great teachers at VAC, including Carol Light, Ann
Garrard, Bobbie Markeson, Judy Buerkle, Trudy Loper, Barry Scott, George Cape,
Betty Lemley, Glenn Smith, Dorothy Johnston, Laurel Daniel, Eve Larson and
Phillip Wade. Carol Hines has been her main mentor and inspiration.
Each class has taught her another aspect of painting and she now concentrates on
oils as they are very forgiving and produce wonderful results.
