Feature Artist  December 2007

My wife and I moved to Sun City in July of 2005 after we sold our company in Oklahoma that we had owned and operated for over 30 years. We’ve never regretted the decision to get out of the business and to move South to Sun City.

I took my first picture with a little Kodak Brownie Camera when I was in grade school in Oklahoma. After my parents decided I really enjoyed photography, they gave me a Kodak Pony II that actually had some variable settings and that really fueled my interests. Naturally, I’ve upgraded hardware a bit since then but I still have those cameras and I still enjoy taking pictures as a hobby. My subject matter is generally scenery or birds and animals but I photograph whatever interests me. Most of my pictures document instances in time for my wife and I to enjoy later rather than trying to make a work of art.

My most unusual photography experience was involved with integrating the panoramic and mapping cameras into the Apollo lunar missions after college graduation. This experience lasted for about 10 years.

This hobby has never developed into an artistic skill although the lessons provided bye the members in the Photography Club have all been very helpful. If you are interested in photography at all, you should consider joining the Photography Club.
